Quantity: feeds 1-2 people enough produce for a week.
Check out this incredible bag this week!
What's in the bag this week? CONTENTS COULD INCLUDE:
Plus a couple mystery items! We use up everything we have week by week. That’s the best part about having a flexible produce bag full of fruits and veg.
Contents subject to change. And we may even add more food - that is not perfect, above and beyond what you paid the $40 for. Please understand we know the quality is not perfect, we are simply trying to not waste the food.
Produce availability is determined by where we are at in the growing season. Please subscribe to our email newsletter at the bottom of this page if you are interested in getting a weekly list of what fruits and vegetables are in the bag.
*Please note, we add in produce that is not local but this will be very limited, and likely none in the growing season. But, for example, if we come across an excess of avocados, we'd like to be able to provide them to you and will add them. Or, we add bananas, because a lot of our subscribers are parents, and the kids enjoy them. And in some cases, we buy them so they can be given out easily to the people who are still without a home in Niagara.
Our point? We want local more than anyone, and this product is an example of how we are navigating the current food system in real time, to increase our purchasing power, and grow and buy more local food.
When we purchase from a local food system, the profit stays within our community. We believe this is a great way to unite the various groups within Niagara to both fundraise but also feed. And grow... And then grow even more.

Small Produce Bag
It weighed 18 pounds on my scale. The delivery was free. The products were organic. I decided to price out the items in the bag with the sale prices of grocery stores I shop at. I only came up with with $24.00 of product in the bag. That disappointed me. Then I shared the cabbage and cauliflower because that is too much for me so it would be better for me to actually buy items more sized to my eating habits. If the Brussels were supposed to be the “surprise”, I had to cook them right away because they were not in terrific shape and I realize that it is mentioned about this on your website however maybe I wasn’t in the mood for Brussels Sprouts on Wednesday. I went to the store the following Saturday and the display of what was in the bag and what I got in the bag wasn’t a true duplicate as the display showed a gigantic cucumber and the cucumber I got was the smallest I have ever seen . Overall I was a little disappointed with this but I probably will order again because they were generous and sent me a link that I could forward on and if that person ordered with the link Small Scale Farms would send me a $20 voucher to use and I received that a couple of days ago. It is hard to say whether I recommend this product. I feel although delivery is free and the time saved from shopping is great the saving money-wise wasn’t there. But I will say yes because what they are doing is great to help people of little means. For that they get a ten out of ten!
Small produce bag
$40 well spent, in my opinion. A good variety of fruits and veggies.
So Affordable, support local farmers
It is both easy and convenient to order through small scale farms! They are helping to supply food to everyone who needs in order to eat healthy. Many classes to sign up for to learn basic skills as well. Its important that we support local farmers and too much food is wasted in big box grocery stores.
Excellent Food Bag!
We are everything in our bag & it was delicious. I love looking up recipes for items I don’t usually purchase at a grocery store. Very fresh!
I'm a huge fan:):) Thank you Small Scale Farms!
I have the wonderful advantage of living nearby the Lundy’s Lane location. I come by every other week (I grow some stuff in my own garden), and purchase a $40 produce bag. It’s packed with goodness! Plus, when I went in to get this week’s bag, I was able to get 3 heads of lettuce for free!!
