Small: feeds 1-2 people for a week
We work with a network of small local farms and value-aligned growers and distributors. Most of our produce is the best/freshest you can get because there is often no middleman man, however when farms have beautiful but slightly imperfect produce (called “seconds”), we rescue it and include it in your box. It tastes just as good, supports our farmers, and makes your weekly share more affordable — with no contracts or commitments.
If you choose to subscribe to this produce bag, you can receive it weekly, by-weekly, or monthly etc. Your subscription is manageable from your account page, and is easy to navigate. Let us know at any time if you have any questions.

*Please note, we add in produce that is not local but this will be very limited. For example, if we come across an excess of avocados, we'd like to be able to provide them to you and will add them. Or, we add bananas, because a lot of our subscribers are parents, and the kids enjoy them. And in some cases, we buy them so they can be given out easily to the people who are still without a home in Niagara.
Our point? We want local more than anyone, and this subscription is us navigating the current food system in real time, to increase our purchasing power, and grow and buy more local food.
When we purchase from a local food system, the profit stays within our community. We believe this is a great way to unite the various groups within Niagara to both fundraise but also feed. And grow.
And then grow even more.

CanadaLove the variety
It’s always fun trying new foods that I may be less familiar with. I look up recipes or throw in soups stews or gift to one of my vegetarian friends. Everyone wins!

I wasn't impressed with the freshness of the items I had in my bag. The garlic scapes were fantastic! I had never tried them before. The green leaf lettuce was wilted, the strawberries started going bad the next day, the corn had already gone bad, and a few other things were just not great. I would rather support local small businesses and local farms, but I also like knowing my food is going to stay good in my fridge for longer than 2 days. With a promo, the box was worth it, but I wouldn't spend the full price.

I liked my produce bag and will order again. I did not end up eating the extra few items that was added into my produce bag as it was spoiled, I put that in the compost. I ordered strawberries and eggs too and they were great! I will order again as I got a lot of produce :)

Recently I was thinking that potatoes don't taste like they used to. I LOVE potatoes but not lately. I purchased a small bag of vegetables from Small Scale and there were a few potatoes included. When I tasted them that night for dinner I was flooded with childhood memories of the lovely taste of potatoes. I have been back to buy more from the store and will continue to do so as long as they are available.
