We are thrilled to announce after 3 years of curriculum development, Small Scale Farms has partnered with Willowbank School of Restorative Arts (and multiple others) to bring Niagara a certificate course in Land Based Learning.
We are so excited in fact, we are offering a sneak peak seminar series to tide us over until our formal launch this spring. We simply cannot wait.
***Please Note: There are limited seats so please sign up ASAP as we do expect the course to sell out.
Course Title: Land Based Learning - Development Series: Make Your Own Medicine
For far too long now we have listened entirely to another’s knowledge of disease, rather than consult our own wisdom, to keep ourselves healthy.
Quite frankly, we are not living in an era of preventative health. Nor are we taught how to listen to our bodies.
So how can we get there? How can we learn?
This is the beginning. Let's make our own medicine.
As a community, we clearly need to learn more about what health even means, and how we can achieve it. Better yet, let’s strive to maintain it.
In this development series you will learn from various practitioners (Osteopath, Holistic Nutritionist, Small Scale Farmer/former Homeopath, Native medicine), the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, gut health, mental health, and general wellbeing. Food is medicine, so this course has been designed to help you develop a solid foundation for the various things you can eat, grow for yourself and/or find in nature, to help target a wide variety of ailments. After all, there is an entire ecosystem of medicine, waiting to be found.
Let’s start by learning together, about the amazing plants we can use to heal ourselves, that we happen to have growing in our own backyards.
